Wick High School : Intermediate 2 Provided by:The North Highland College

The Early Education and Childcare course at Intermediate 2 builds on the Intermediate 1 course and  prepares the student for working in that sector.  The employability skills are worked into each unit.  Although some units are optional, the college may make this decision on what is most appropriate.

All work is assessed to national standards, and this  takes place as the course progresses. Work experience can be a useful part of the course, and  visits to local nurseries, playgroups and schools along with visiting speakers do enrich the course delivery.

Hospitality Int 2

Students finishing the Hospitality Intermediate 1 course might naturally wish to progress onto the Intermediate 2 course. For younger students this might be done in later school years, or for the older ones it may be done through a local college. To find your local college please click here.

Employment with training

You may be able to get an employer to take you on with your Intermediate 1 or 2 certificate, with the offer of on the job training or  a modern apprenticeship.   You need to be quite clear what is on offer before accepting such a post.  In the construction trades you should use the CITB or SECTT pathways.
