
Wick High School is a comprehensive secondary school with a roll of 860. Currently there are almost a hundred teaching and support staff. The school caters for the pupils from the east of Caithness.
Normally pupils enter Wick High School at the S1 stage from eleven primary schools in August each year.
A full induction programme is provided for pupils, with close liaison between the Guidance and Learning Support staff from Wick High School and the primary schools.
A meeting is held in June each year for the parents of the new first year pupils and there are visits by the pupils themselves to Wick High School during the summer term.
Parents of pupils joining the school at other times have open access to the Rector and Depute Rector for full consultation as to individual needs and arrangements.
The curriculum, attendance and personal details (date of birth, address, emergency contact address etc) of each pupil are stored on the school's administration computer. Under the Data Protection Act parents may see their child's computerised records on request.
