Tobermory High School

Tobermory
Isle of Mull
Argyll
PA75 6PB

Tobermory High School is a fully comprehensive school catering for five to eighteen year old pupils. Tobermory is situated on the Northern end of the Isle of Mull, in North West Scotland. Pupils in the primary department mostly live in Tobermory.

Tobermory High School is a combined primary and secondary school with pupils housed in well-equipped buildings. The primary department serves the community of Tobermory and the secondary department has a catchment area which includes most of the Isle of Mull. The schools associated primaries are Tobermory, Dervaig, Ulva, Salen and Lochdonhead. Pupils also join Tobermory High School from the mainland communities of Kilchoan and Lochaline.
Distance learning facilities are provided in some S5/6 subject areas through Heriot Watt University’s Scholar programme. Videoconferencing allows for communications and teaching and learning through the video links; the English, art, languages and science departments have piloted work in this area, linking with other primary and secondary schools. The school is well equipped with ICT for learning and teaching and the majority of teachers have successfully completed the Learning Schools Programme.
Tobermory High School is a member of the Mull and Iona Co-operative, working with primary colleagues to ensure that the school builds on primary school achievements when pupils move up to the secondary school.
