Our school is comprehensive and inclusive, catering for pupils from S1 to S6. We have fifteen associated primary schools spread across the island and Raasay.

At present we have 660 pupils on the roll and about sixty teachers. We anticipate that next session there will be 125 pupils in first year. Our staying on rate is well above regional and national averages.

We have now moved into a brand new building which has been enthusiastically greeted by all visitors. The building also houses wonderful new community facilities including a swimming pool, library, archive, adult learning centre, a games hall, and performance venue.

A consortium including the school, council, parent council, friends of PHS & Community Facility Interim Management Committee is coordinating an informal consultation to obtain stakeholder views on what the new facilities should be called and how they should be operated.

The school is changing in other ways too. The new school parent council has been operating for several months, and has debated many important issues. A new school uniform policy has been devised after extensive consulation with pupils and parents. The school has had a very successful follow up report after a reinspection by HMIE. As always the success of the school is the result of a partnership between parents and teaching staff.
