Golspie High School is an non-denominational mixed comprehensive school for children of secondary age. It serves the area from the Mound in the south to Kinbrace in the north and from the seaboard villages to Rosehall in the west. Associated primary schools are: Kinbrace, Helmsdale, Brora, Golspie, Rogart, Lairg, and Rosehall. School transport is provided for pupils within the daily travel area which extends about twenty seven miles. Pupils from outside the daily travel area may be given a place in lodgings approved by the Education Authority. All pupils in lodgings are provided with free transport home on Friday night and return on Sunday night.
The School roll is 351 pupils with thirty eight teaching staff (part-time included). In 2000 a new technology centre was added to the school containing 'state of the art' machines and computers. The District Council Swimming Pool, used by the school in term time, is sited within the school grounds and there are extensive playing fields.
