"Working together for success" is the mission statement chosen by pupils, staff and parents to reflect the core values of Elgin High School.
 

Elgin High School is situated on the south side of Elgin. It serves the communities of New Elgin and the surrounding rural areas of Longmorn, Birnie, and Miltonduff.

Elgin High School's roll in as of 2008 is around 650 pupils. The main feeder primary schools are Greenwards, Mosstowie, and New Elgin. However, there are also a significant number of pupils from other schools.

The school is fully comprehensive and seeks to provide a quality education for pupils of all abilities and all backgrounds. Kestrel House is the part of the school that caters for pupils with profound and complex learning difficulties.
