Dornoch Academy is a vibrant, progressive six year secondary school preparing its pupils for life in the twenty first century. The school caters for children and young people from the age of eleven up until eighteen. The school has twenty five teaching staff and approximately 261 pupils from the associated primary schools Bonar Bridge and Dornoch.

The name Dornoch Academy has been in use since 1913, when the town was provided with the new school building that now houses Dornoch Primary School. The present Dornoch Academy building was opened in 1963 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother as purpose built secondary accommodation for the school.
