Rolls Royce operate the Vulcan naval Reactor Test Establishment (NRTE) on behalf of the Ministry Of Defence. The site houses prototype nuclear propulsion units of the type operated by the Royal Navy in its nuclear submarine fleet.

Rolls Royce Vulcan provides opprtunities for local young people through its apprentice and graduate schemes, and by supporting work experience placements for school pupils. The aim of our schemes is to develop skills, knowledge, and behaviour of our young people to match our business needs whilst enabling them to realise their full potential. We recruit young people who live within a sutiable daily travelling distance.

Rolls Royce Vulcan believe that Skills For Work courses will help young people to develop skills and experience in engineering and help inform their career choices.
