Recent major contracts are described on the JGC website and include work for the offshore oil industry pipeline yards in the Highlands and for the nuclear decommissioning operations at the former UKAEA site at Dounreay, Caithness. "The design, supply, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of the new Dounreay site oils storage tank farm. Project managing the civil foundation works and providing structural steelwork for pipe supports was also part of the project remit. All electrical, instrumentation and control works was also undertaken by their in house E&I department."
"JGC have manufactured a number of varieties of bundle spacer clamps for pipeline fabrication yards in the north of Scotland. The quantities of each type of clamp has varied from 1 No. to 4000 No. dependant on design and bundle overall length."
The Company recognises and actively promotes the need for continual improvement in skill enhancement, personal development and technical innovation, and is committed to a structured training programme to achieve these objectives. They have successfully achieved the Investor in People Award, which is in recognition of their commitment to continual improvement of their staff.

Their apprentice training scheme has been recognised and acclaimed by the National Training Association (NTA), the Scottish Council of National Training Organisations (SCONTO) and the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT). One apprentice gained apprentice of the year awards in 2003 and 2004.
JGC recruit young people across the range of skills and trades which they require. They consider that the new Skills for Work courses should improve the quality and experience of applicants. Pupils who have taken appropriate courses at their local college while still at school should have a greater awareness of the qualities needed in a modern work force in the engineering sector as well as having gained basic workshop skills.
