Ackergill Tower is one of the foremost operators in the hospitality sector in Britain , offering a standard that goes beyond five star. They cater for private parties and corporate guests from all over the world at their unique castle on the shores of the Moray Firth. Parties usually fly in to Wick Airport for their shorter or longer stays, which the company set out to make extremely memorable experiences for all their guests.

The Tower provide a wide range of opportunities to entertain and challenge their visitors, from fishing and golf to off road driving, coastal exploration and viewing the local flora and fauna.

Events of a cultural nature are held in the UK’s most northerly Opera House.

Some of Scotland’s finest fresh seasonal produce from the hotel garden and estate, local scallops, home caught lobster and crab, the tenderest of spring lamb and northern beef all make dining at the Tower an exceptional experience.

The company also own the Forss House Hotel near Thurso. Forss House is a delightful 1810 country home nestling in 20 acres of woodland, below a waterfall, on the gently meandering River Forss. In truth there can be few finer spots to linger in the big sky country; a place where time always seems to be on your side. A 14 bedroom family owned hotel Forss House is an elegant comfortable haven that puts you instantly at ease with a welcoming staff keen to look after you.

This hotel provides an excellent spot for a relaxing weekend, a get away from break or  an elegant meal to celebrate a special occasion. The hotel caters for business events and is a popular location for weddings. The hotel is proud of the range of malt whisky it stocks.

The company attach a great deal of importance to recruitment and training. Careful selection procedures are backed by a range of in-house training events run by visiting experts. Staff need to have a willingness to learn, be willing to go "the extra mile" for guests and to be innovative and flexible. Only by careful attention to detail by interested and committed staff can the company reach its high aims.

The new Skills for Work courses in Hospitality should allow young people to gain the basic skills for working in the industry. As well as the job specific skills the company see great benefits in young people being able to get on with others, learning the importance of operating as part of a team and always being willing to learn and improve.
