Learning is a lifelong activity, and Shetland College will work with you to help you achieve your targets.

Shetland College is a partner within the UHI Millennium Institute network, and offers students in Shetland the opportunity to study at further and higher education levels. Through this partnership it is now possible to study courses in Shetland which previously would have only been available through study on the Scottish mainland. Furthermore many of these courses can be studied in a flexible manner thus increasing opportunities and access to learning. It may be possible to undertake the course of your choice from your local learning centre so please enquire if that is what your wish.

Shetland College is a student centred college determined to provide high quality learning. The college teaching and learning has been consistently held in high regard by external assessors and the staff are rightly proud of that fact. However staff are committed to improving the quality of what is offered, and therefore routine assessment and evaluation takes place to ensure course provision continues to meet student needs.

Shetland College are also working hard to improve support facilities for students, and there is an excellent library on campus. Students also have access to guidance and other specialist support. Currently the college is looking at the possibilities of extending the Lerwick campus, and thus improving the learning spaces and recreational areas.
