Lochaber College was founded in 1998 and is a full academic partner of the University Of The Highlands and Islands Millennium Institute (UHIMI), and seeks to meet the learning needs and aspirations of the communities of Lochaber on an open inclusive basis to the highest possible standards.
There are currently five linked centres which together form Lochaber College: Fort William, Kinlochleven, Mallaig, Kilchoan, and Strontian, and the key aim of the college staff team in each is to provide the most welcoming and supportive learning environment possible for students of all ages and of all disciplines.
The college negotiates, coordinates, and quality assures learning opportunities from a wide range of providers both from within the UHI and the local community. Each of the learning centres offers courses accessible on an evening, part time, full time, or modular basis, from leisure classes to full degree programmes.
